When you request a quote from Kleenheat, we’ll ensure you receive all the government rebates you’re eligible for, and they’ll be clearly stated on your quote.
Here’s a breakdown of the rebates and incentives available in WA:
WA Solar Battery Rebate Scheme
On 1 July 2025, the WA Government launched a solar battery rebate scheme to make battery storage more affordable for households.
This scheme offers:
- rebates of up to $1,300 for Synergy customers ($130 per kWH of battery capacity)
- interest-free loans of up to $10,000 for eligible households to help cover the cost of the battery system.
If you want to add a battery to an existing solar system, our installers will assess your current system to determine if it complies with the latest standards and meets rebate eligibility requirements. If it doesn't, they may recommend upgrades or a system replacement to ensure eligibility for the rebate.

Federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program
On 1 July 2025, the Federal Government introduced its ‘Cheaper Home Batteries Program’ to help reduce the cost of home battery systems.
The program includes:
- an upfront rebate of up to 30%, calculated based on the usable kilowatt-hour (kWh) capacity of the battery.

Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES)
The Federal Government offers a program called the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme to help people afford solar panels. This program gives you small-scale technology certificates (STCs) when you install a solar system. These certificates act like a discount on the cost of your system.
When you request a quote from Kleenheat, our trusted installers will calculate the STCs you’re eligible for and clearly state these as a discount on your quote. If you proceed with the installation, they’ll take care of the STC claim process for you.
Distributed Energy Buyback Scheme (DEBS)
The State Government's Distributed Energy Buyback Scheme (DEBS) is managed by Synergy and allows you to receive payments for exporting excess solar energy back to the grid.
What are the current buyback rates?
- Peak Rate: 10 cents per kWh for energy exported between 3pm and 9pm.
- Off-Peak Rate: 2 cents per kWh for energy exported at other times.
You pay significantly more for electricity imported from the grid than you earn from exporting excess solar power. Therefore, the best way to save money with solar is to use the power you generate during the day or store it in a battery for use when the sun isn't shining.
